Penyanyi 90an: Masa Jaya TLC dan Kepergian Left Eye

Fimela.com, Jakarta Grup TLC begitu mencuri perhatian penikmat musik di era 90-an. Masa kejayaan mereka itu dihiasi dengan berbagai pencapaian mulai dari dominasi chart hingga sederet penghargaan.

Dibentuk tahun 1990, TLC beranggotakan Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins, Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes, dan Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas. Kala itu, mereka mengusung perpaduan musik seperti RnB, pop, hip hop, soul, hingga funk.

TLC sendiri tercatat telah merilis 5 album, 5 album kompilasi, jajaran single, dan masih banyak lagi. Adapun hits single mereka seperti Creep, Waterfalls, No Scrubs, hingga Unpretty. TLC juga meraih 4 album multi-platinum termasuk CrazySexyCool (1994), dan jadi satu-satunya album grup wanita yang menerima sertifikat dari Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

Ditambah, TLC menjadi grup RnB pertama sepanjang sejarah yang meraih Million sertifikasi dari Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) untuk FanMail(1999). Namun sayang di tengah masa jaya, TLC harus kehilangan satu personel yakni Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes yang meninggal dunia usai mengalami kecelakaan mobil pada 25 April 2002.
